Omar Field – Block 5 is a compact two-storey facility designed with a deliberately simple, robust architecture suitable for remote field conditions. The building is expressed as a clean rectangular volume with a uniform sand-colored render that minimizes heat gain and visually harmonizes with the desert context. A centrally recessed entrance forms a shaded niche, emphasizing the main door at ground level and creating a small balcony at the first floor, which also acts as an exterior breakout space for occupants.
Horizontally aligned window bands provide controlled natural daylight to interior offices or staff accommodation, while maintaining generous wall areas for thermal insulation and structural continuity. The symmetric façade and clear internal planning around a central corridor allow flexible subdivision into offices, meeting rooms, or living units with minimal modifications. Exterior fixtures are kept to a minimum to reduce maintenance, and the building is raised slightly above grade to protect against windblown sand and occasional surface water.
