Syrian Opera House – central cooling plant is a highly specialized HVAC installation designed to support the demanding environmental requirements of performance halls, rehearsal rooms, and public foyers. The system is based on high-efficiency air-cooled chillers located on a service roof, arranged in a compact battery of triangular coil modules to maximize heat-rejection surface within a limited footprint. Chilled water is distributed through externally routed stainless-steel piping, carefully detailed with long-radius bends, isolation valves, and thermal insulation layers protected by aluminum jacketing. Clear flow-direction markings and accessible valve groups simplify operation, balancing, and maintenance.

The plant is acoustically and visually screened behind the stone parapet of the Opera House, protecting nearby public spaces from noise while preserving the purity of the architectural silhouette. Hydronic design ensures stable supply temperatures and redundancy under peak summer loads, with controls integrating the chillers into the building management system for energy optimization and fault monitoring. Particular attention was given to corrosion protection, drainage, and thermal expansion joints to secure long service life in an exposed rooftop environment.

Housari Corp coordinated the full integration of this technical façade with the structure and architecture of the Syrian Opera House, delivering reliable comfort conditions for artists and audiences alike.
